AN Logistika SIA handles environmentally hazardous substances and petroleum products, we acknowledge our obligation to minimize its impact on the environment. Yearly we fund measures relating to environmental protection and safety.

AN Logistika SIA has established an environmental management system, that analyses operations of the company and every potential risks associated with it, and ensures regular environmental monitoring in the territory of the company operations. A network of groundwater monitoring wells is built in the company’s territory, which enable access to data on groundwater quality both in the territory of the tank farm operations and along the whole pipeline passage up to the port. All information is analyzed and summarized in the company’s ecological database. The company constantly communicates with the Latvia Environmental Board and Department for Environmental Management and Protection regarding air quality observations. The oil tanks and rail tank car loading rack loading and discharging products are equipped with petroleum product vapor recovery systems.

For many years, AN Logistika SIA has been funding the remediation of the environment projects and elimination of consequences produced by pollution. Petroleum products which accumulated underneath discharging railway tracks in the form of a floating petroleum product layer above the groundwater level were eliminated under the company’s environmental safety projects.

AN Logistika SIA is aware of the obligations to reduce its impact on the environment, by introducing and maintaining the Environmental management system, the company has implemented a policy in accordance with the European and international legislation requirements and the information available on essential environmental aspects.

The environmental aspect is core element of AN Logistika SIA activities, products or services that can relate with the environment. The vital environmental aspects are those, which have or may have a significant environmental impact. The identification of the environmental aspects was carried out by certified expertise that examined the aspects associated to the company’s activities in standard circumstances, in case of deviations, during commissioning, shut down, as well as in potential emergency situations and accidents.

When assessing the importance of AN Logistika SIA, guideline were applied to evaluate the frequency and the expansion of the impact, productive use of natural resources and power supply, the importance of the actual environmental impact applying legislative requirements to a certain aspect, as well as analyzing the existing preventive measures. At the moment, the company has ascertained essential part of its activities based on the mentioned guidelines.

AN Logistika SIA focus on the quality, environmental, occupational health and safety policy and targets originating from it is on compulsory compliance with binding regulatory terms, as well as with European and international standards in the areas of quality, environmental, occupational health and safety management. The company management system is verified and certified by the Russian and international quality management standard ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001 and GOST R ISO 9001:2008 the environmental management standard.
